PostSubject: [How-To] B&M Hammer Shifter   Sun Apr 18, 2010 9:02 pm

Ok friends, I installed this shifter to my 97 mustang some time ago and i want to share this [How To] with this community. I really love this shifter, simply excellent and FULL RATCHET !!!

This shifter features full ratchet action performance, a lighted gear position indicator, chrome stick and trigger assembly, as well as a satin aluminum B&M T-handle. The Console MegaShifter has all the features of the classic universal model that made it the most popular aftermarket automatic shifter around!

I used the Part #81001 for Mustang 1994-2000.

Here some pics when the shifter arrived at my home:

and then began the installation

The console needs to be removed

... Console removed !

This is a good time for clean the console Wink

.. and now we need remove the Stock Shifter

Working, Working, Working

Look Both shifters (Stock vs Hammer)

... wiring the overdrive button.

The B&M Hammer Shifter Placed !

Ok, now i need to find power for the Gear Indicator LED ....

I need 12V with the ignition switch ON

... and BINGO ! I Find it ...

Wiring the Gear Indicator LED from the New Shifter to the Stereo (Power Source)

The electrical installation was done. :thumb:

Let see if the Indicator LED is working properly

On .... Excelent !

Finally we need install the lock (security) cable

This is the cable

This is a side view of the Lock Cable installed and working !

Ok, this is the final result

this it is a small video that shows how the shifter work (Sorry, in Spanish :-[ )

Please sorry my bad english, this How-To post was placed on my Mustang Website for Spanish speaking enthusiasts
